REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR - Scientists have observed the smallest pea-sized frog on Borneo island. According to the magazine Zootaxa, adult males of the species have size between 10.6-12.8 mm. Bean-sized amphibian was called microhyla nepenthicola taken from the name of the plant where the animal lived.
Frog species that had been misidentified by the museum, said Dr Indraneil Das from the Institute of Environment and Biodiversity Conservation, University Malaysia. "Scientists think that the animal was still a young age, but since the invention of this type, it has changed," he said.
